Sparkostory is a Malaysian web application that creates personalized, AI-illustrated children's storybooks. Using a photo of the child and a few personal details, Sparkostory generates a full illustrated book where the child is the main character. Books are bilingual in English and Bahasa Malaysia, and are delivered as a PDF within 10 minutes of purchase.
Parents complete a short form, upload a photo of their child, and receive a high-resolution 11-page PDF storybook within 10 minutes of payment. No design skills, no waiting weeks for delivery, and no account required. Sparkostory makes a deeply personal gift accessible to every family.
Sparkostory is designed for parents and gift-givers in Malaysia and Southeast Asia with children aged 4 to 8 years. The stories are written at an appropriate reading level for this age group, and the bilingual format supports families raising children in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Sparkostory was founded by parents who wanted to see their own children reflected in the books they loved. Children's literature has a long history of underrepresenting the diversity of Malaysian families — in skin tone, language, and setting. We built Sparkostory to change that, one story at a time.
Character illustrations are generated using AI image technology based on the child's uploaded photo. Story text is written by human authors and overlaid on the illustrations in code — it is never generated or modified by AI. This ensures the text is accurate, appropriate, and consistent.
Before payment, you receive one free character preview and can regenerate it up to three times until you are satisfied. Once you approve the character, our system generates all 11 story pages in parallel and emails the finished PDF within 10 minutes.
Sparkostory's first story, “Sofia and the Moon's Last Secret,” follows the child character on a magical journey to the moon to discover its secret. The story spans 11 pages (a cover and 10 illustrated pages) and explores themes of curiosity, wonder, and bravery.
Story text appears in English and Bahasa Malaysia on every spread, rendered cleanly by our layout engine. The result is a book that feels both personal and professionally made. Every Sparkostory book is set in a world familiar to Malaysian children: local landscapes, local names, local wonder.
